"Musical November" Ara Malikian in Marbella

Ara Malikian is one of the most recognized and brilliant violinists of today. This artist was born in Lebanon within an Armenian family, he began his career as a violinist at an early age, instilled by his father.

At the age of only fifteen the German government awarded him with a scholarship to continue his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover. Afterwards he continued his studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

This artist has succeeded in uniting his own Armenian roots with the music of other cultures such as that of Central Europe, Middle East, Argentina and Spain, translating all this into his personal style filled with rhythmic strength and emotion, combined with the expressiveness and virtuosity of the European tradition.

The quality of the artist as a violinist has been recognized in numerous international competitions, among which we highlight awards such as the Felix Mendelssohn (Germany), Pablo Sarasate (Spain), Niccolo Paganini (Italy) and Zino Francescatti (France).

Malikian Ara has an extensive discography with Warner Music, including works of Antonio Vivaldi, JS Bach, Nicolo Paganini, Astor Piazzola, Armenian music , together with the flamenco guitarist José Luis Montón.

This summer The Millionaires’ White Summer Party will be introduced in Marbella, of course a perfect place for this event. The second part of the night will have more up-tempo music, with performers as Eric Conley, who will be singing Barry White Songs, and so create a perfect ambiance for some classic Studio 54 disco music by the international DJ Rusty Egan and get everyone up and dancing until dawn.

Presented by the enthusiastic Oscar Horacio of “Marbella Te Quiero” and sponsored by Chopard and Veuve Clicquot, this will be a night full of music and entertainment, with Argentinean Steak Grill, Goyo catering, Veuve Clicquot champagne and several bars. A guarantee for an unforgettable party, enjoying music, glamour, food and drinks on a sultry summer night under the stars.

Feel Marbella this summer

On a few Saturdays each summer, this year Saturday July 2nd, August 6th and September 3rd, Marbella organizes ¨¡Siente Marbella! Callejea con los sentidos¨ or ¨Feel Marbella! Wander with the senses¨, a series of events aimed at bringing together art, music and gastronomy: enticing the senses with sight, touch, sound and taste.

Feel Marbella is organized from 19:00 to 23:00 in the historical centre of Marbella and displays many artists, different concerts, performances, exhibitions and ¨gastrobars¨ spread out over the old town. Most can be found though at Plaza de la Iglesia, Plaza de Santo Cristo and Plaza de los Naranjos; the art exhibitions can be found at Plaza de la Alameda;  and concerts are held at the Plaza la Victoria, Plaza de Puente Ronda, Paseo de la Alameda and Plaza Altamirano. Of course the children are well attended as well, special street performances with comedians, magic, balloons and dance will keep the children entertained for sure.

Apart from the event, Marbella is a certainly a city worth visiting. Of course the city is famous for its lifestyle, rich and fame, but is also has a beautiful old centre, nice parks, bars and restaurants to relax, great shopping possibilities, a super yacht marina (Puerto Banús), fantastic beaches and thus a great place to relax. In the neighbourhood are also various golf courses, the Costa del Sol known as the Costa del Golf attract golfers from all over the world and offers an irresistible combination of challenging courses, beautiful settings and sun the whole year round. Further there are several natural parks and amusement parks nearby and a visit to the towns of Malaga, Fuengirola or Granada can also be very nice.
